Mother's Day 2009

Me and my girls! I cannot imagine this life without them. Two different personalities but both gifts from God.
What a great day!

The end product before it gets fired.
Avery was officially done with painting. Can you tell? :-)
After lunch we went to a pottery place to make some amazing works of art. Austyn did a beautiful cross, while Avery ended up making a great Hippo. Avery and I also painted a plate together because we had done one with Austyn when she was just under 1 years old. We wanted to make sure we had done one with both girls.
We went out to lunch with a bunch of good friends of ours after church service. We shared a lot of laughs and memories on a very special day for all of us mom's. It was great to hang with all of them and their families. They each mean a great deal to us.
The flowers I got from Austyn and Avery for Mother's Day. The pink one's were from Austyn and the purple ones from Avery.

Avery's First Official Haircut

On Wednesday, all three of us girls had our haircuts by a very dear friend of mine. But this time was a little different for me because it was Avery's first time. She was pretty unsure of it for a while but she slowly warmed up and loved her new hair. She is still talking about it today how much she loves her new hair. The cut helped it so much and made it even more curlier. It's too cute.

Saturday/Sunday Fun

This weekend was crazy busy with a lot of fun though. Saturday we had a soccer game to kick off the morning and then two birthday parties to finish off the afternoon. The first one we went to was at a pottery place so the girls got to make their own pottery figure. Avery choose a Frog and Austyn chose a flower. Hence the two different personalities. Sunday started off with a great church service followed by hot weather and some sprinkler fun. The girls were so excited. Although has you will notice from the pictures, Avery was as sure about it as Austyn was. Austyn was a trooper though with trying to help Avery go into the sprinkler. Needless to say, Avery never completed a run through. Oh well, it was still SO cute and a blessing to see Austyn support her little sister.
This was the third and final try! Holding hands was a good thought.
Running away again!
The second try! Almost made it!
The HUGE pep talk Austyn gave her little sister!
The first try all by herself! She just used the tree for protection.
Stopping for a sprinkler pose with her fancy shades!
Presprinkler with our fancy shades!
A day in the life of our Baby Boo!

Austyn's Third or Fourth Tooth...Not sure

Austyn lost yet another tooth today but what was different is that I actually accidentlly got to pull it out. She shallowed her last one so this was a success story. And to make matters even better...I didn't pass out. I'm known for passing out from everything. Let's just say I passed out when I broke a finger nail several years ago. That's how bad it is. But I survived and Austyn thought it was pretty fun.

Kindergarten Music Program "The Circus"

Last Thursday night, all of the Kindergarten classes at her school put together a music program based on a circus. I think there was probably 4 or 5 classes so the gym was packed with all types of characters. It was so cute. Austyn volunteered to be a hula hooper but we decided after I had put together her "outfit" that it looked more like something from the old movie Flashdance. But she loved it and that's what mattered. She did a fantastic job hula hooping!!!

Kites 4 Kids 2009

This last Sunday was our church homes community event called Kites 4 Kids. This is one of our favorite events of every year. It's big and alots of fun. At one point during the event, I looked up into the sky and noticed that there were probably over 250 kites in the air at one time. It's was crazy cool! The girls had a blast and thank goodness didn't get sunburned thanks to their fantastic daddy who take care of bathing them in sunblock before the day got started. On the other hand, I'm still recovering from a horrible sunburn. I don't normally go without sunblock but I got started taking pictures for the video I'm doing this Sunday of Kites 4 Kids and completely forgot about sunblock. A nice reminder that I will not forget next time.

Good friends ours hangin' out with us. I've watched their kiddos for a little over three years now. Crazy how fast the time flys.
This is baby boo NOT happy at all because Daddy tied her kite to her pants so she wouldn't lose it while he was helping Austyn with hers. She let him know just how unhappy she really was.

Even more Easter Fun

This was a sign Austyn made for her friend who was coming over last night for a slumber party. It read, "Welcome to my sleepover. Come have some fun." It was too cute. She did really well on her spelling too.
