Splash Day 2009

To end the school year last week, all of the Kindergarten classes got to celebrate by having a Splash Day. It was A LOT of fun! I think I ended up taking like 500 pictures but it's all good. We had a blast. I even took Avery and her best friend Andrew with me and they had a blast as well.
This might just hurt!
Sliding with style...or is that falling with style :-)
Anybody for a great big hug right about now?

Kindergarten Graduation/Awards Ceremony

This was the last song they did for us and it was about moving on to 1st Grade! Ok...so I'm not ready for that. I cannot believe we have a 1st Grader. That doesn't seem possible.
Austyn received the Outstanding Reading Award from her teacher!
Austyn keep trying to mess with one of her best friends hair and he decided he wasn't having it :-) It was so cute watching them.
Aren't they too cute together :-) Even with my babies big ol' tooth missing which just cracks me up right now!
She was so excited for this day! While Tripp and I were just a little excited and more in unbelief because we never imagined this day coming this fast.

Catching Up on Mishaps and Happenings

This really doesn't do it justice but here are some pictures of Austyn's thumb after her little sister shut her thumb in the door. And of course it was the hinge side and Avery didn't see it and keep trying to close the door. It looked horrible for days and swelled to where the skin was so tight it couldn't go anymore.
Austyn lost her big front tooth a couple of days ago. Our amazing tooth fairy left her a heart shaped dollar bill. Now that's some love and creativity from the tooth fairy.
A trip to have some pool fun and of course I took some self portraits with my babies :-)
Spend an afternoon with some dear friends of ours playing on the slip and slide. The girls had the greatest time. We are so blessed with amazing friends!
Chillin' with my hubby
Baby Boo doing her thing...actually we don't know what she was doing there!
Sistas from the Hood!
Had to use the shades for a while.
Avery protecting her sister while they got to sleep together a while back. Way too cute!

Field Day 2009 (Yes, I'm a little behind on blogging)

Last Wednesday Austyn had field day at her school. I think it was more like Splash Day but it's all good and it was a lot of fun. BUT blazing hot!!! Luckily neither of us got burned. As you can see, they had all kinds of games for the kids. Half of them were water fun and the other half more Field Day type games. Austyn had a great time with all of them. Daddy even got to join us towards the end of the day which made it even better.
Yes...she held on. That's my girl!
The girls tried to take on the boys (4 boys) and still couldn't pull it so I snunk in and grabbed the end of the rope and helped the girls to victory! :-) Just couldn't see them lose!
Double barrel throwing...that's my girl!

Catepillars and Best Friends

These two sweet girls have known each other since they were about 2 years old. From the very beginning they have pretty much been inseparable.
Austyn's class had made these tshirts for their Butterfly Farm Field trip but do to the lovely swine flu it got canceled. They did get to wear them to the park for a full day of science experiments and fun though. She is so proud of this shirt that since she brought it home a couple of days ago, it has found it's way back onto her at least once a day. I think I'm going to have to sneak it out of her bedroom in the dark of the night to get it washed :-)

Road Trip Back Home

This past weekend we traveled back to Kansas for two special graduations. They were two cousins of Tripp's but they are more like little sisters to him. He lived with this family for many years growing up and these two girls were around the age of Austyn and Avery when we moved in. It's crazy to think they are graduating from college and high school now. They are both going to attend the University of Arkansas next year together. It will be hard knowing they are that far away but we are so excited for them both. They will excel at anything they put their hearts and minds into. It was a lot of fun being back home with everyone on the farm. The weather was great too. It was a whirlwind trip back to Kansas but we are SO glad we did it. Congratulations girls!
A picture of almost the entire family
Don't let these two fool you...they ARE twins of a completely different age. They have more characteristics and looks that are the same then you can even imagine.
Our two baby girls...two completely different personailities!
