Field Day 2009 (Yes, I'm a little behind on blogging)

Last Wednesday Austyn had field day at her school. I think it was more like Splash Day but it's all good and it was a lot of fun. BUT blazing hot!!! Luckily neither of us got burned. As you can see, they had all kinds of games for the kids. Half of them were water fun and the other half more Field Day type games. Austyn had a great time with all of them. Daddy even got to join us towards the end of the day which made it even better.
Yes...she held on. That's my girl!
The girls tried to take on the boys (4 boys) and still couldn't pull it so I snunk in and grabbed the end of the rope and helped the girls to victory! :-) Just couldn't see them lose!

Catepillars and Best Friends

These two sweet girls have known each other since they were about 2 years old. From the very beginning they have pretty much been inseparable.
Austyn's class had made these tshirts for their Butterfly Farm Field trip but do to the lovely swine flu it got canceled. They did get to wear them to the park for a full day of science experiments and fun though. She is so proud of this shirt that since she brought it home a couple of days ago, it has found it's way back onto her at least once a day. I think I'm going to have to sneak it out of her bedroom in the dark of the night to get it washed :-)

Road Trip Back Home

This past weekend we traveled back to Kansas for two special graduations. They were two cousins of Tripp's but they are more like little sisters to him. He lived with this family for many years growing up and these two girls were around the age of Austyn and Avery when we moved in. It's crazy to think they are graduating from college and high school now. They are both going to attend the University of Arkansas next year together. It will be hard knowing they are that far away but we are so excited for them both. They will excel at anything they put their hearts and minds into. It was a lot of fun being back home with everyone on the farm. The weather was great too. It was a whirlwind trip back to Kansas but we are SO glad we did it. Congratulations girls!
A picture of almost the entire family
Don't let these two fool you...they ARE twins of a completely different age. They have more characteristics and looks that are the same then you can even imagine.
Our two baby girls...two completely different personailities!

Mother's Day 2009

Me and my girls! I cannot imagine this life without them. Two different personalities but both gifts from God.
What a great day!
Austyn's cross and Avery's Hippo
The end product before it gets fired.
Avery was officially done with painting. Can you tell? :-)
After lunch we went to a pottery place to make some amazing works of art. Austyn did a beautiful cross, while Avery ended up making a great Hippo. Avery and I also painted a plate together because we had done one with Austyn when she was just under 1 years old. We wanted to make sure we had done one with both girls.
We went out to lunch with a bunch of good friends of ours after church service. We shared a lot of laughs and memories on a very special day for all of us mom's. It was great to hang with all of them and their families. They each mean a great deal to us.
The flowers I got from Austyn and Avery for Mother's Day. The pink one's were from Austyn and the purple ones from Avery.

Avery's First Official Haircut

On Wednesday, all three of us girls had our haircuts by a very dear friend of mine. But this time was a little different for me because it was Avery's first time. She was pretty unsure of it for a while but she slowly warmed up and loved her new hair. She is still talking about it today how much she loves her new hair. The cut helped it so much and made it even more curlier. It's too cute.

Saturday/Sunday Fun

This weekend was crazy busy with a lot of fun though. Saturday we had a soccer game to kick off the morning and then two birthday parties to finish off the afternoon. The first one we went to was at a pottery place so the girls got to make their own pottery figure. Avery choose a Frog and Austyn chose a flower. Hence the two different personalities. Sunday started off with a great church service followed by hot weather and some sprinkler fun. The girls were so excited. Although has you will notice from the pictures, Avery was as sure about it as Austyn was. Austyn was a trooper though with trying to help Avery go into the sprinkler. Needless to say, Avery never completed a run through. Oh well, it was still SO cute and a blessing to see Austyn support her little sister.
This was the third and final try! Holding hands was a good thought.
Running away again!
The second try! Almost made it!
The HUGE pep talk Austyn gave her little sister!
The first try all by herself! She just used the tree for protection.
Stopping for a sprinkler pose with her fancy shades!

A day in the life of our Baby Boo!
